Fiaker Cab Rides

The "wage carriages" were the forerunners of today's modern taxis. The customers wanted to quickly get from A to B. Wage-drawn carriages were a faster way to reach one's destination than with the then common means of transport, the Senften or chair-bearers. The idea of wage-drawn carriages is about 300 years old and comes from Paris.

Around 1720, the term "Fiaker" was born in Vienna. Such a cab consisted of a coach and a team (2 horses and the coachman).

Today, because of their romantic and nostalgic aura, rented carriages are used for city tours and weddings in Vienna. There are currently about 30-40 fiacres in Vienna. A cab ride is a must on any visit to the city.

Enjoy a ride through the old city of Vienna as to the Emperor's time.

We will gladly arrange for you a great ride (40 min. € 80,-) with a real Viennese Fiaker at your desired date. For the same price, the Fiaker Cab picks up our guests from Pension VITIS and brings you to the in the services included great ride in downtown.
